WHEN IS HAIR MESOTHERAPY USED?
Mesotherapy is a therapeutic procedure that helps strengthen hair follicles, accelerate hair growth, restore hair density, and normalize the hydrolipid balance of the scalp.
Indications for hair mesotherapy include:
🔅hair loss;
🔅alopecia (baldness);
🔅dandruff;
🔅seborrhea;
🔅excessive oiliness or dryness of the scalp;
🔅hair brittleness and split ends;
🔅premature appearance of gray hair;
🔅hair weakening after pregnancy and lactation.
Before starting mesotherapy, a cosmetologist or trichologist examines the scalp, evaluates the condition of the hair, and studies the patient’s medical history. In some cases, additional tests may be required to determine the cause of the problem. Only after that does the specialist decide whether mesotherapy or other procedures are necessary. Mesotherapy provides a good aesthetic result, but since it is a medical procedure, it should be performed under the supervision of an experienced doctor.
EFFECTIVENESS OF HAIR MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy provides:
🧬activation of “dormant” follicles;
🧬accelerated hair growth;
🧬increased hair density;
🧬restoration of hair structure and density;
🧬normalization of the hydrolipid balance of the scalp;
🧬elimination of dandruff;
🧬treatment of seborrhea and alopecia.
The effectiveness of mesotherapy can be fully evaluated after completing a cycle of sessions. On average, 7–10 procedures are prescribed once a week. However, the first results are usually noticeable after just a few treatments. Both women and men note that their hair begins to grow faster, becomes thicker, and looks healthier and more well-groomed. Moreover, this effect spreads along the entire length of the hair.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR HAIR MESOTHERAPY?
During mesotherapy, medications based on various components are injected into the scalp. To select the optimal composition and achieve the desired result, it is first necessary to determine the cause of the problem. This may require blood tests and other examinations.
It should be taken into account that hair loss, for example, may be caused by hormonal disorders, and in this case, appropriate treatment is needed in addition to mesotherapy. The same applies to seborrhea, lipid balance disorders of the scalp, and other problems.
In addition, preparation for the procedure itself is required:
one week before the procedure you should stop taking aspirin and other medications that affect blood clotting;
3–4 days before the procedure it is not recommended to use hair styling products, masks, oils, dry shampoos, and similar products;
on the day of the procedure you should wash your hair and not apply any products afterward.
HOW IS THE HAIR MESOTHERAPY PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
During mesotherapy, the preparation is injected into the middle layers of the skin using microinjections at a depth of 2 to 4 mm. The injections are made at pre-marked points at a distance of about 1 cm from each other, moving along the hairline. Most often the procedure is performed manually using a syringe for subcutaneous microinjections, although a mesoinjector may also be used.
Before the procedure, the skin is treated with an antiseptic. Sometimes an anesthetic is also used to reduce discomfort during injections. However, some patients tolerate the procedure well even without it. The session usually lasts from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the treated area.
After the procedure, the skin is treated again with an antiseptic to reduce the risk of infection at the injection sites.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAIR AFTER MESOTHERAPY?
After a mesotherapy session, small micro-wounds remain on the scalp from the injections. For several days, the skin may be slightly red, swollen, and more sensitive. To ensure quick and complication-free healing, specialists recommend:
🔆do not wash your hair for 2 days and avoid using dry shampoos or other hair products;
🔆do not rub the scalp or touch it with a comb until the micro-wounds heal;
🔆avoid sun exposure and hot baths for 2–3 days;
🔆do not visit swimming pools or saunas for 1–2 weeks;
🔆avoid alcohol consumption for 2–3 days.
As a rule, the scalp heals quickly, and within a few days after the session you can return to your usual lifestyle.
WHO SHOULD NOT UNDERGO HAIR MESOTHERAPY?
Mesotherapy is considered a fairly safe procedure. However, to eliminate even minimal risks of complications, the procedure is not recommended in the following cases:
‼️malignant tumors in the body;
‼️autoimmune disorders;
‼️blood diseases;
‼️epilepsy;
